font size

Catherine Evans and Emma McQuillan from the Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade at St Swithin’s, Magherafelt, with over a quarter of a century of service between them, have just been awarded the Brigade’s Archbishop’s Award. This is the top honour a member can attain and Catherine and Emma are worthy recipients.

  Catherine

Catherine (left) has been in the CGB for 14 years and now helps with the younger boys in the CLB on Friday nights – her father is the Church Lads’ Brigade Captain. She is in the upper sixth form at Rainey Endowed School and hopes to go to University in October this year.

Emma (right) helps out in the Sunday School and sings in the Church Choir for special occasions. She also attends Rainey Endowed School and is in the lower sixth form. She is very musical – she plays the violin in the school orchestra and sings in the school choir.

Catherine and Emma were presented with their certificates by The Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.
