Newfoundland 125th Celebrations Report
We wanted to share this report, and photos, with you. Thank you Terry!
Just a short note to let you know the Nfld 125 celebrations at the WE were a great success. The Governor's message went down so well, they reproduced it in their commemorative Order of Service. I read it out during the service before presenting them with a mounted and framed copy.
As normal, special awards are announced and you can imagine my surprise when the Nfld Governor presented me with the Exemplary Service
Medal, attached. I was stuck for words.
The parade was led by Major William G Tilley being driven in a WW2 jeep. Now aged 102 with 91 years' service, he was not allowed to march ... as much as he would liked to!!
Perhaps you could consider bestowing a Governor's Commendation upon Maj Tilley for all he has done in the last twenty years for Anglo-UK relations?
