St Michael’s, Tintern had a great day at this year’s Trooping the Colour.
After an early 5:30am start, we headed to London for a day at this year’s Trooping the Colour. A big thank you to Roxeth and Harrow Brigade for allowing us to park at their hall.
With some time before the event started, we enjoyed travelling on the Underground and making our way into central London. Once there, we entered the Youth Enclosure and found a good spot to watch the ceremony.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting a member of the King’s Guard, who kindly let us try on a bearskin hat. He spent time explaining the history behind the hats and what life is like serving in the Guard, which was really interesting for both the members and leaders.
We then watched the Trooping of the Colour and enjoyed seeing members of the Royal Family, including The King, The Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales, and our Patron, Princess Anne.
It was also nice to meet members of other uniformed organisations, and the members enjoyed having the opportunity to explore parts of London before we began our journey home to Tintern.
Days like this are a great example of the opportunities the Brigade can offer. From meeting new people to experiencin
g national events first-hand, the members had a day to remember.
We hope to have other Brigade companies 
join us next year!
