Your Church & Us
The benefits of CLCGB to you and your Church
- CLCGB involves children, young people and their families in positive youth work and activities to link them into the Church family.
- Engages children and young people who may not otherwise go to Church, supporting them to get involved with the Parish and discover what Christianity is about for themselves.
- Gets children and young people involved in activities that benefit their community and Church and develop them as people in their transition from childhood to adulthood.
- CLCGB is linked with the Church and follows the Christian ethos.
CLCGB are here to help you set up a new group in your Parish
CLCGB provides a lot of support to make it easier for you to set up a new group. It is supported by leaders from the area around you who can help you to start up and run a CLCGB group. They will help you advertise and organise an introductory night, organise displays by other CLCGB members, help you identify potential leaders, and lead them through the starting up of a company.
Our NHQ team can advise and guide you along the way.
- There are lots of resources and training courses in place ready to help you.
- Grants may be available to get your group off the ground.
- Social media is used to engage with children and young people and get them interested in the Church and the CLCGB.
So would CLCGB fit in with your Parish?
Would it help meet the challenge of engaging children and young people in your community?
Could it help to bring young families into your Church?
We believe it can, and we will be here to help you. Let’s get started…
Prayer
The CLCGB has a main prayer for the whole organisation with two further prayers for the Martins section and Y-Team section.
The Brigade Prayer:
Heavenly Father, bless and guide with your Spirit the work of the Church Lads’ and Church Girls’ Brigade.
Help us never to be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified,
to fight valiantly under His banner against sin, the world, and the devil,
and to continue His faithful soldiers and servants, to the end of our lives.
Amen
The Martin’s Prayer:
Dear Father God, Thank you for The Martins.
Help us to learn to love and follow Jesus.
Help us to be kind and helpful to others,
And to always do our best,
Help us to enjoy God’s World and look after it.
Amen
The Y-Team Prayer:
Father God, for being able to have fun together.
We thank you, Lord.
As we try to help others and look after your world.
Help us, Lord.
As we discover more about you and your love for each one of us.
Be with us, Lord.
Amen
