Corporal John Corbishley of St Marks Heyside and Major Perry Gunn of NHQ and St Marks Heyside were invited to Buckingham Palace on the 20th May to celebrate the DoE 7oth Anniversary and Gold Award winners.
They enjoyed fine weather (until 4.30pm, when it slewed it down) and saw speakers Sam Thompson, Gareth Malone, Kate Garraway MBE, Hayley McQueen, Chloe Chong and Corinna Brown.
They also enjoyed music from both the British Army Band and Central Band of The Royal Air Force.
They then had tea and cake in the Buckingham Palace gardens where HRH The Duke of Edinburgh made a speech congratulating everybodies achievements both as participants and Leaders.
Both really enjoyed the day.
