Our National Co-ordinator Perry Gunn was in the House of Lords, Cholmondeley Room on Monday the 10th March at the invitation of Lord Levy the President of the Jewish Lads & Girls Brigade (JLGB).

The occasion was a reception to mark the 130th Anniversary of the JLGB. It was a lovely event, in attendance were Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport,  Rt Hon Lisa Nandy, and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, The Rt Hon Wes Streeting.

Perry met some Young Leaders, Jacob, and Maisie, who discussed the many similarities with ourselves, and also met with Lord Levy and the JLGB’s CEO Neil Martin.

Also Giving speeches were an 18-year-old, Deena who told an Emotional Story of her life within JLGB and 100-year-old Mervyn Kersh who has been in JLGB since he was 9 years old. Both were truly inspirational stories.

During Lord Levy’s introduction, he mentioned our being represented on the evening and how, had it not been for the CLCGB, there may have never been a JLGB, which was very interesting of him to mention.

May we wish the JLGB a happy 130th and many more successful years to come.
