CLCGB FESTIVAL OF MUSIC AND DRILL (FMD) 2026

After the continued success of last year’s FMD, it is proposed that the event should be held again this year.

The FMD, will be held at Humberside Scout Activity Centre, Raywell Park, near Hull, on the weekend of 10-12 July 2026. There will be indoor accommodation (which will be allocated on a needs basis), and companies will be required to bring tents for the remainder of their members, if necessary.

The event will be open to all CLCGB bands, smaller musical ensembles, soloists and drill squads. Therefore, if you have a talented guitarist, pianist, choir, etc in your company, they will be welcome to perform. Participation is particularly welcomed from companies that didn’t attend last year, in addition to all those who did.

CLCGB musicians that are part of companies that do not have a band are encouraged to attend and participate in combined musical activities. There will also be a massed drill squad for all in attendance.

A general outline of the weekend is as follows:

Friday 10 July

  • Arrivals and set up camp.

Saturday 11 July

  •  Rehearsals for combined band performances and combined drill
  • Performances by each band/group/soloist/drill squad to all those present and combined band performance. (These performances will be recorded for release on social media).
  • Social evening event.

Sunday 12 July

  • Massed band performance in Beverley town centre.

The cost of the weekend will be no more than £15.00 per person. Companies will be responsible for their own transport costs to and from Raywell Park.
