Below is a tribute to Neil written by Jeanette:
Saturday 1st November 2025 Neil sadly passed away, All Souls Day, Saints known and unknown, Neil most definitely falls into this category.
From the age of 7 years old Neil Whitelegg joined St James CLB in Gorton, Manchester, as his older brothers Fred and Stephen Whitelegg were already members.
In his years as a Brigade member he achieved so much.
He completed his Bronze, Silver and Gold D of E then became a D of E instructor and assessor, He was a great swimmer and won at National level. He helped organise the regimental camp in Scotland and much, much, more. He made many friends and best friends for life, all Brigade members.
In January 1996 at brigade one night Neil asked me on a date. we have been together just short of 30 years, 24 years married, we have two children Abi and Toby and a grandchild Alex.
The CLCGB has been a massive part of our lives, the friendship that have been made over the years, the support when life gets tough, the laughter, the tears, the faith, the love, memories made 💙
